A SHORT FILM ABOUT
ROOTS, FERNS AND DISCO
The idea spawned from the mystery of the Swedish forest,
a wonderous children’s book, the joy and sweet sweet
pain of film development and the love for disco.
The objective for this project was to be a vehicle of
learning for VFX students and professionals on a
pro bono basis whilst having a great time.
“With all of these talented young artists we learnt that it was important to find a canvas big enough for all types of brushes and colors.”
The project was designed to include a large
variety of VFX tasks from clean up all the way
to advanced character animation.
We also wanted it to be as close to a real
world project in VFX production. Therefore
the edit wasn’t locked for a start when the
students started post.”
